Every year, applicants undergo a competitive selection process that allows us to maintain high quality candidatures and an interdisciplinary approach. Our application process is divided into two phases: a written application and an online interview. The written application requires a CV, a letter of motivation and a written speech on a selected current affairs topic. The personal (online) interview takes around 30 minutes and includes questions on the candidate’s profile and their motivation, as well as questions on the UN and current affairs. Applications usually take place during the month of October and the Delegation Project runs from November to July.

Note: Due to unforseen circumstances we had to postpone this year’s delegation project by two months. The programm will start in January 2024.

The Delegation Project is geared towards young adults in the beginning of their professional journey. Prior knowledge on global diplomacy is not expected and applications from students in their first semesters are particularly welcomed and encouraged.

Educational Background

While participation is primarily targeted at university students we also encourage young adults pursuing vocational training to apply. Young adults who are not currently enrolled in university/ in vocational training can be accepted in exceptional cases if they are able to commit the required time. High School students are not accepted into the program.

Applications are open to participants age 18 to 27.
In very rare, exceptional cases students outside the age range can be accepted into the program.

Languages Skills

The program is held in English and no German skills are required.
Participation in the project will enhance your English skills but a solid foundation is required for a sucessfull participation. We reccomend CEFR level C1. Participants with CEFR level B2 can sucessfully participate if they are willing to invest additional, independent work to improve their language skills throughout the program.

While no prior knowledge is required, we do expect a keen interest in International Affairs, Global Diplomacy and the United Nations. Prior Model UN experience is not expected.

Participation in the Delegation Project is free and
we will charge no fees.

Covered Costs
MUNAM will cover all of the occuring costs for the participation in the bi-monthly sessions, the Kick-Off Weekend, the IsarMUN conference and the summer rafting trip.

Additional (optional) Costs

The participation in additional conferences is strongly encouraged but optional to ensure equal access regardless of financial means. We will do our best to subsidize as much of the related costs for additional conferences as possible; however the participation in international MUN conferences is pricey and we cannot guarantee that we can aquire sufficient funding to cover all of the costs for the additional conferences.*

MUNAM Membership
We do require participants to become members of MUNAM e.V.. The first year of the membership is free of charge for participants of the Delegation Project. After that the regular yearly membership fee of 15€ will be charged. The membership can be canceled yearly in accordance with our Articles of Association.

*If you decide to participate in additional conferences you can expect the following costs per conference: ~100-150€ conference fee, ~200€ for transportation and ~200-300€ for accomodation and food. Depending on the available funding we can cover up to 100% of these costs; however, we cannot guarantee financial support.
